The Email
A month ago, Edwin Servellon opened an email from Trainerize announcing a 10% price increase effective March 16. After add-ons for scheduling, payments, and nutrition, he was already paying over $150 a month for a platform that gave him templates and a calendar. The same platform that would go down on his busiest day of the week just weeks later.
He brought the email to us. Not as a business pitch. As a conversation between friends, in the same gym where we've trained together for years.
Since COVID
Edwin has been part of our lives since the pandemic. What started as personal training became something deeper. Through lockdowns and reopenings, through career changes and life milestones, the three of us kept showing up. Paridhi and I trained with Edwin not just because he's an exceptional coach, but because he became family.
We watched him build Servellon Fitness from the ground up. We saw the hours he poured into programming workouts by hand, thousands of clicks, hours of filming exercise demos, years of refining his craft. We saw what the software was supposed to handle and what it actually did. We understood his frustration not as a market opportunity, but because we lived it alongside him.
The Decision
That day at the gym, the three of us made a decision. Paridhi, Edwin, and I agreed: we would build the platform trainers actually deserve. Not another template library with a payment add-on.
